Here's an updated poly budget based on what modelling we have done, and now with all the objects sorted out.

The words in red are the unknown things we need to work out.
The words in orange are our works in progress (wip).
The blue words are things that are done, and aren't likely to change.
Italics words are finished assets.

2 song ideas

So here's 2 ideas for some music for our camera fly through.

2 very different songs that sort of match the theme in different ways. The first is more serious, but the other one is more silly, so post some more ideas with whatever you like.

Sea & Sky progress

Hi all, just a post to see how you like our sea & sky. I tried to make the sky a bit painterly to match Moski's character models and hide the blurry low resolution problems.

This is 42 tri's and just large enough so that the textures don't blur too much.
The next thing I am about to work on is the house textures!

I've done the trees and rocks modeling, the trees have 424 faces and rocks have 103.

Poly-texture-budget-count

So here's a preliminary list of stuff and budgets. Nominate what you want to do, and make sure you post your name when you post so we all know who's doing what. There should be 3 people doing 2 complex things, and 2 people doing 3 simpler things.

I think the sea, sky and houses are pretty simple, so I will do those plus the dock.

Sea & Sky - 50 poly, 2 x 512px texture - Thomas
Island - 1000 2 x 512px texture - Chiu
Main trees - 1500 poly, 2 x 512px texture - Ka Kuen
Houses - 2000 poly, 512px texture - Thomas
Small plants, rocks and trees - 200 poly, 512px texture - Ka Kuen

Any ideas for scale? If we assume the character is 50 units high, how big should everything else be?

We don't have to worry about the scale at the moment, we will just drop everything into one file, and use the scale tool to adjust it. And we shall do this once we finish the modeling and before we start to put any texture.

So here we go

So this is the blog where we share ideas and post stuff when we can't be in the same place at the same time. I'll email around the password so everyone can get in and post whatever they like.

First thing we need to decide is who wants to do what. Everything needs to first be designed, then needs to be modelled.

So between 5 of us there's 8 major things that need doing. We need to start to design and model all the above.
We also have 1200 polygons & 14 512x512 texture maps.
